Visa basics every young intern should know

Invitation letters, proof of funds, appointment backlogs — the visa steps that decide whether your offer becomes a flight.

Your offer letter is not your visa. Most countries need an invitation letter naming your host, your dates and who is paying for what.

Proof of funds is the most common rejection reason for students. If your stipend is paid on arrival, ask the host to state that in writing and pair it with a sponsor letter.

Book the appointment before the paperwork is perfect. In peak season, slots go faster than documents take to gather.

Keep scans of everything in one folder. You will need them again for the next country.
