Who we are

25before25 is a platform that helps students aged 16–27 find funded internships, research placements and exchange programmes around the world. This policy explains what we do with the information you give us. Questions go to hello@25before25.com.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google shares with us.
• Profile details you choose to add — age, home country, field of study, education level, languages, skills, bio, interests and your destination, funding and timing preferences.
• Activity in the app — saved opportunities, application tracker entries and private notes, completed countries, community posts, replies, likes, follows and any reports you send us.

Why we use it

• To match opportunities to your profile and show why each one fits.
• To save your shortlist, tracker and mission progress across devices.
• To run the community: showing your public profile, posts and replies to others.
• To keep the community safe by reviewing reported content.

We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising profiles on you.

What other people can see

Your community posts, replies, display name, username, avatar, bio and completed countries are public to anyone visiting the site. Your email address, application tracker, private notes and reports are never shown publicly. Please don't post your address, phone number or documents in the community.

Students under 18

The platform is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please talk to a parent, guardian or teacher before applying to a placement abroad or sharing personal details in the community. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Where your data lives

Accounts, profiles and app content are stored in our managed cloud database and authentication service, which may process data on servers outside your country. Access is restricted to the account owner and, where needed for safety and support, our administrators.

External applications

Applying to an opportunity takes you to the host organisation's own website. Anything you submit there is governed by that organisation's privacy policy, not ours. We are not the employer or programme provider and we do not receive your application.

Your choices

• Edit or clear your profile fields at any time from your mission page.
• Delete your own posts, replies, tracker entries and completed countries.
• Ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing hello@25before25.com.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
